Workshop JAZZ MEETS HIP-HOP
TRUE??????
That's what you'll hear, see and experience at the Jazz Meets Hip Hop workshop, by Dutch-native Saskia Laroo (trumpet, saxophone and bass), who has her own band with American musician Warren Byrd, piano / keyboard and vocals.
Jazz music has become especially popular by improvising, creating something on the spot instead of rendering other people's compositions. Hip-hop is a new form of jazz because the rappers also improvise with text and rhythm. They call it "freestyling".
JAZZ MEETS HIP-HOP combines funky beats with jazzy instrumental improvisations and freestyle rap vocals.
